Cornerstone Architecture has a long history of involvement with planning and design of Fernie Alpine Resort. In 1989 Cornerstone, in association with Atelier Montagne Ltd., Hotson Bakker Architects and Planners Ltd. and Eldon Beck and Associates prepared an updated masterplan for the resort. Shortly after preparation of that plan Cornerstone designed the first lodge at Timberline Village. The fourth building is under construction. Plans for the fifth building of the six building complex have just been completed. In 1995 Cornerstone began work on the Polar Peak Lodges complex. Six buildings are built and plans for the seventh building are complete. Cornerstone also designed buildings at Fernie Golf Estates for Mike Delich.

The latest and most prestigious project at Fernie Alpine Resort is Bear Paw Lodges, done in association with Cheryl Link, a specialist in timberframe design. These exceptional quality buildings are a unique addition to the resort.

Cornerstone has also designed a number of buildings at Big White Ski resort including Chateau Big White, The Coast Hotel, and duplexes in Snow Pine Estates. At Red Mountain we have completed Carolyn's Corner, a four unit luxury townhouse complex. We have also planed a new signature hotel for the base at Red Mountain. Cornerstone is currently planing a waterfront hotel on Okanagan Lake in Summerland and is assisting Hotson Bakker and Associates on planing a hotel and convention centre fronting the harbour in Nanaimo.
